David Archuleta Gets Into Acting In The Philippines
David Archuleta will be leaving on a Mormon Mission soon for two years, but not before starring in a television series for the Philippines’ TV5 network. All we know about the show is that it will also star Filipino actors Jasmin Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero, and David has started taking acting classes to get ready. Here’s what he Tweeted:

David Archuleta To Star In Philippines Prime Time Series (VIDEO)
American Idol alum, David Archuleta will star in a primetime soap with the Kapatid Network on TV5 in the Philippines.
He’ll share the bill with TV5 stars Eula Caballero and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
The announcement was made Sunday afternoon on the talk show “Paparazzi”. David is expected to arrive in Manila this January 13.
David is set to embark on a 2 year Mormon mission this year, which will take him out of the limelight for the duration. It’s nice to see he’ll be able to fit in some projects before he takes off for parts unknown.

Singer David Archuleta is hoping to step up his onscreen career by taking acting lessons. The former American Idol star has played himself on U.S. children’s show iCarly and now-defunct Miley Cyrus series Hannah Montana, but he is keen to improve his performance skills and has signed up for professional tuition. In a post on his Twitter.com page on Monday (09Jan12), he writes, “Took an acting class for my first time today. Fun stuff haha.” He followed the message up with another on Tuesday (10Jan12), which read, “Another acting class today. It’s actually pretty fun! I was nervous at first but I’m enjoying it now.” Archuleta recently announced plans to put his music career on hold to serve as a Mormon missionary. -Taken from www.contractmusic.com
